Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
There are two light lines with floats attached to the framework at the rear of the liner. Simply cast off the lines from your stern cleats and a weighted framework drops down below your prop, skeg or keel and you are clear to go. When you return, pull up lines and secure them to your stern cleats. THAT’S IT!
How do I get my boat in and out of the Bottom Liner?
It's very easy. There are two light lines with floats attached to a framework at the rear of the liner. When your ready to leave the slip you cast off these two lines from your stern cleats and a weighted framework drops down below your prop, skeg or keel and you're clear to back out of your slip. When you return, you tie up your boat, pull up the above mentioned lines and secure them to your stern cleats. THAT'S IT!!
How does the Bottom Liner keep the bottom of my boat clean?
Just the fact that your boat is isolated from the ebb and flow of the tide will retard the formation of growth. Adding 10 to 15% fresh water will retard growth even more, but the best method is to add about 60 cents of swimming pool chlorine to the salt water inside the Bottom Liner, this sterilizes the water of all organisms and you get NO GROWTH!!! The chlorine is available from a swimming pool supply retailer.
What about Electrolysis?
The galvanic action that allows your neighbors boat to damage your prop, rudder and zinks...with a Bottom Liner you now have a di-electric barrier around your boat to help control electrolysis and spills of gasoline, diesel or oil.
